Planning consent achieved

Sama has been granted planning permission to develop two distinct schemes, a care home and a PBSA, on a currently derelict brownfield site on Maltravers Road, east Sheffield.

The PBSA comprises of an 11-floor block containing 354 studio rooms and 24 x 6-bed cluster flats. The site is within easy walking distance of Sheffield Hallam University and other local amenities.

Designed by AXIS Architecture, the tallest parts of this block take advantage of the site’s elevated position to allow unparalleled views across the region that residents will be able to enjoy from the shared facilities on the top floor.

The Parkhill Views PBSA will come with multiple onsite facilities for students, such as an indoor sports area and gym, a cinema, a laundrette, and 193 sq. m of cycle storage.

The PBSA communal areas will be comprised of two gaming lounges, two dining areas, and 65 sq. m of roof terrace. There will also be a landscaped courtyard on the first floor and a terrace on the sixth floor.

The scheme also incorporates 1,315 sq. m of brown roofs spread over two floors, helping to increase biodiversity on the site.
